I’ve been sitting on this idea for a post for some time now.  From time to time throughout my career, this topic materializes out of nowhere and is worthy of discussion. And when it comes to ‘ownership’, I have experienced differences of opinion that could easily rival the argument about which is better … Apple or Android.

So with that grenade firmly tossed, the question(s) leading into this post are as follows:

  1. As a product manager (or perhaps product owner), what is your definition of done?
  2. Who ultimately owns the definition?

A Not-so-obvious Leadership Perspective

Sometimes what you get is not what you expected.  Several examples come to mind … perhaps tasting a new food/drink … meeting somebody in person you’ve only spoken with via the phone … reading a book/watching a movie.  In all of these examples, I’ve had situations in my life where my expectations didn’t line up with the actual experience. Positively or negatively.
